My Story

Hello My name is Sundra…

It excites me to learn you want to find out more about me and my smoothie journey. I will be honest, it wasn’t easy and I will be the first to tell you I have struggled with my weight pretty much all my life. I am assuming since you are here…you have too. The past 15 years have really been the worst for me. My weight skyrocketed to 201 pounds. I am not the tallest person either so the extra weight look much worse.

Okay, enough with that already…yuk.

In 2014, my daughters and I were in a roll-over accident (my vehicle flipped twice). My youngest daughter and I were taken to the emergency room. Surprisingly, we left with practically no injuries. My daughter was fine, I unfortunately had a herniated disk in my neck and had to do physical therapy.

The paramedics and police were shocked that we were not seriously injured. We definitely were blessed and had a divine presence watching over us. The odd thing about this, is my blood pressure WOULD NOT go down. I am steady about seeing my doctor every 3 months to have my thyroid levels checked (or lack thereof, you see – I had my thyroid removed about 15 years ago because of thyroid cancer, but that’s a whole other story).

I never had problems with my blood pressure, it was always normal. The doctors in the emergency room said I should keep an eye on my blood pressure. I finally brought it up during a routine visit (this was about 6 months after the accident). She wasn’t completely assured it was because of the accident (although I firmly believe it was one of the factors), she did more blood work. It turns out, I of course have high cholesterol and everything else that goes with having excess weight. What got me most is that she said with my height and weight I fell in the obese category. Yah…I never really thought of myself as obese. When you hear those words, it really starts to make you think about your lifestyle and potential health risks. Heart disease runs in my family, so that was a huge concern for me.

I finally made the decision to do something about it. I searched to try and find something I could do to lose weight. I tried many and NOTHING seemed to work. It is definitely true that when you turn 40…it is harder to lose the weight. I didn’t seem to have this problem when I was younger. I wasn’t going to let these statistics get me down. I decided to not be part of the statistics and started researching other option such as smoothies and juicing. I found smoothies to be more tasty and fulfilling….:-)

Fast forward to now, I have found that I really like smoothies and after extensive research, I found Green smoothies to be extremely healthy. I decided to take my own research and provide you with the information and tools you need to help you make a lifestyle change as well. I know there are others out there who are struggling and need to try something a little different.

Update: 3/2016 – My doctor performed all the routine blood work again. Everything was perfectly normal. Cholesterol – EVERYTHING was GOOD! Yah!!

I am delighted to be with you on this journey!
